UPDATE: Bea Miller Sent Home from THE X FACTOR

An emotional Thanksgiving night for Maplewood teen as she is voted off the competition.

Update, 11/22, 9:07 p.m.: Beatrice Miller is leaving THE X FACTOR, after being voted off the show on Thanksgiving night.

"I just want to tell my sisters that I love them and I'm sorry," said an emotional Miller, who barely choked back tears.

"You're a true star in my eyes," said Miller's mentor, Britney Spears.

Miller was ranked in the bottom two contestants in viewer votes after Wednesday's performance, and had to participate in a sing-off with the other lowest-ranked contestant, Cece Frey. Miller sang Sarah McLachlan's "I Will Go Down With This Ship." Spears was the only one of the four judges who voted to keep Miller on the show.

What better way to take a break from Thanksgiving preparations than to sit through another nail-biting episode of THE X FACTOR, featuring Maplewood middle schooler Beatrice Miller?

Last week, Miller made it through another round of competition after doing a slow, soulful rendition of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," which met with a mixed reception from the judges.

This week, the show's theme is gratitude. On a second podcast interview with Maplewoodian's Joe Strupp, Miller hinted that her song choice this week will have something to do with her little sisters. Here is a quote from Miller from the X FACTOR website:

"I'm gonna fake you out a little bit. It's gonna be kinda of slow but it may or may not get fast in the end. I'm not comfortable singing slow songs every week. It's not my style. I'd rather sing like pumped up songs, but when you're giving thanks to someone really important to you, it's really difficult to find a fast song that's gonna be able to give meaning to that. So, we'll see. We'll see."

In Strupp's podcast, Miller discussed how it feels to know her hometown is rooting for her, her fears of being sent home from the competition on Thanksgiving, Britney Spears as a mentor -- and the criticism she gets from "haters" about being the child of a same-sex couple.

THE X FACTOR airs on FOX on Wednesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. Viewers can vote after the Wednesday broadcast ends at 10 p.m.; there will be on-screen directions. Voting can be done by phone, text message or online. For more information about voting, click here.

Then don't forget to tune in on Thursday to find out the results.
