Fun and exciting events for your weekend.

If you have recovered enough from last weekend’s holiday festivities, prepare for another weekend full of interesting activities!

All around our little corner of Essex County plays and comedies, concerts and children’s programs are planned for your entertainment. Miss Witherspoon is the first production by The Theater Project as resident company at the . Written by New Jersey native Christopher Durang, the show is directed by Mark Spina, and stars Bev Sheehan in the title role. The comedy deals with life, death and reincarnation, and Miss Witherspoon herself is not loving the reincarnation part. Eager to depart this world, she meets others in the afterlife who have other ideas for her. $15-$25; Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; Maplewood

The will host the Paper Mill Junior Allstars as they present Seussical Jr. Spend the day with old friends Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz and Lazy Mayzie in this fantastical, magical, musical production. If your child cannot get enough lacrosse, consider this event! Children ages 7 to 15 are invited to a free clinic at by Camp Deeny Riback and NJ Y Camps. Max Seibald, Major League Lacrosse superstar from the Long Island Lizards and Philadelphia Wings and World Record holder for the fastest shot, will be in attendance.  Following the clinics will be a Q & A with autograph signing. Free; Sunday at 2 p.m.; West Orange

In honor of the wolves’ birthdays, the is celebrating with a day full of wolf-events. Meet the new pups, and spend the enjoying activities and educational programs about wolves. Children & Seniors $6; Adults $8; Children under 2 are free; Saturday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; West Orange

The Jazz in the Loft Series at will feature South Orange resident John Dukich, singing in English, Spanish and Portuguese while playing jazz standards and international songs. Cash bar with no drink minimum. $15; Sunday at 5 p.m.; South Orange

Take advantage of the beautiful spring blooms at the for a family portrait by Erica Moffitt from Naki Studios. Erica will walk the trails with you to choose the perfect setting for your special photos. A 25-minute session has a booking fee of $50. All day Sunday; Short Hills

Calling all wine lovers! The is hosting an art exhibit featuring artwork inspired by and related to the culture and love of wine.  Several of the wines represented by/in the artwork will be available for sampling. Rent Party continues to fight hunger in our community with live music. This Friday at the , The Monacchios, Richard Deans, and Ruby on the Vine will rock the house, with each dollar raised being matched by the HK Fund. $5 minimum donation, but more is always welcome; Friday at 8 p.m.; South Orange
