US Stamp Society Chairman Visits South Orange Tuesday

The South Orange Public Library kicks off national stamp collecting month with a visit from Roger Brody, Chairman of the Board of the United States Stamp Society.

October is Stamp Collecting Month in the United States, a celebration that has occurred annually since 1981.

The South Orange Public Library will be all decked out to tell the story of stamp collecting with ten display showcases, several bulletin boards, and many posters around the library.

The kick-off event is Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. when the Chairman of the Board of the United States Stamp Society, Roger Brody, will be present to give a brief talk on US postage stamps and their many purposes.

Refreshments will be served and a guided tour of the exhibit showcases will begin at 8 p.m.

All guests will receive a free packet of stamps for collectors.
