SOVCA Seeks Board Members

he South Orange Village Center Alliance is accepting applications for two board positions.

The South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA) has two open positions on its volunteer Board of Directors and is looking for qualified candidates to apply. By ordinance, the Board is made up of a mix of property owners, business owners, residents and other stakeholders. The positions currently open are one Business Owner Director who owns a business within the Special Improvement District boundaries and one Resident Director whose primary residence is within South Orange.

“Our board is a great mix of backgrounds, personalities and strengths,” said Matt Glass, Board Chair. “What we share is a deep commitment to making South Orange Village Center a better place for all of our stakeholders. We expect a lot from our Board members but I think they get to see a return on their efforts in what we’re accomplishing.”

Board members are expected to attend one monthly full Board meeting as well as various committee meetings and should expect to dedicate at least a few hours a week to accomplishing the organization’s goals. The Director terms are three years in length.
