First Baptist Church Opens Doors to Community

Get warm and recharge at First Baptist Church of South Orange

Residents of South Orange and Maplewood impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, are invited to First Baptist Church of South Orange from the hours of 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., to warm up with coffee, tea and other beverages. In addition, the church will provide an opportunity for individuals to charge cell phones and other devices, and to receive storm updates and other news from television and the internet based at the church, announced Reverend Terry L. Richardson, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, S.O.

The church, which is located at the corner of Valley and Second Streets in the Village of South Orange, will remain open during these hours until power is restored to affected residents.

“We want to be a resource for the community to recharge themselves and to take advantage of our services alongside other residents coping under these strenuous conditions,” said Reverend Richardson.
