Hanukah Events, Rent Party This Week in South Orange

A look at what is on the calendar this week.

Monday

Highland Place/Crane's will host "Family Night" at 6 p.m., with hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and more for four people, $30. Join in and bring your kids to enjoy the fun picnic themed event.

The Maplewood Jewish Center will host a Chanukah Party for all ages at 113 Parker Ave at 6:30 p.m. Come enjoy dinner, donuts and special entertainment. Admission is $12 per person, with a $54 family max. RSVP to Frumie Bogomilsky, admin@maplewoodjewishcenter.org.

Tuesday

Highland Place (5 Highland Pl., Maplewood) will host a Benefit Jam at 8:30 p.m. to raise money for a quadriplegic who recently lost his home in Hurricane Sandy. Performers include Joe's Garage, the Blues Bros., George Naha, artists from from Felt, Walk The Dog, Moroccan Sheepherders, and more. Suggested donation $5; food will be collected for local pantries as well.

Friday

The South Orange Elks Lodge (220 Prospect Street) will host a Rent Party to fight hunger in our community. A variety of bands will perform, including 4th Street NiteOwls, Heroes of Toolik, and Deena & The Laughing Boys. Suggested donation is $5 and every dollar is matched by HK Project. 

Saturday

Gift Wrapping Extravaganza at Columbia High School. Bring all of your holiday gifts to have members of the Diversity Rocks Club wrap them for a small donation. All proceeds will go to underprivileged children for the holidays.
