Locals woke up to wet streets and, for many in South Orange and West Orange, flashing digital clocks and reset electronic devices. Readers report that power went out around 3 a.m., but was restored shortly thereafter.
"I was first on the phone to PSE&G," Jennifer Eagan wrote to Patch in an email. She woke when the house alarm beeped to signal that it was switching to battery power. "Sandy is too recent for me to feel confident about power being restored quickly."
Luckily, power was restored to South and West Orange by 4 a.m. There are no reported outages today, according to PSE&G.
