Local foodies have a treat in store!

For instruction, Ben Salmon offers Basic Culinary Bootcamp through the South Orange - Maplewood Adult School.

In this lecture-format, four-week culinary boot camp, Salmon, of Kitchen a la Mode, will guide you through the fundamentals of cooking. From knife skills to stove top cooking to identifying and using essential kitchen tools, you will leave this class with the foundation necessary to increase speed, efficiency and enjoyment in the kitchen.

He's known as a guest judge on Bravo TV's Top Chef, but before the advent of the ubiquitous culinary-based shows that have become a staple in today's pop culture, there was Julia and Jacques, a show featuring two internationally recognized gourmet chefs – Julia Child and Jacques Pépin. Pepin discusses his illustrious career, demonstrates techniques, and provides new recipes.
