South Orange Artists Honored as Winners of Essex County Senior Show

More than 30 senior artists received honors at the Essex County Hospital Center in Cedar Grove Wednesday.

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. announced South Orange residents Edward Hoffner, Sheila Sugarman, Victor Esquilin and Cindy Wolf were among the 34 Essex County artists who received awards in the Annual Essex County Senior Citizens Juried Art Show. Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo made the announcement Wednesday at a special ceremony at the Essex County Hospital Center in Cedar Grove.

Hoffner won second place in the non-professional acrylic category for "Early Morning NYC." Sugarman won first place in professional pastel category for "Sunlight through the Trees." Esquilin won first place in the non-professional watercolor category for "Birch Tree." Wolf won first place in the non-professional mixed media category for "Anima." 

This year, a record 119 entries were submitted for review from across the county.
