AUDITIONS for the new monologue stage play, ‘Hope

Lives Here’ will be held by appointment only on July 24th, July 27th and July 28th.  Hope Lives



Here was written by Keely Freeman and Chike Camara and will be directed by
Kathy D. Harrison.  The show will mount
on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the South Orange Performing Arts Center in
South Orange, New Jersey; for two performances at 1:00PM and 7:00PM

SYNOPSIS
Hope Lives Here is a collection of narrative monologues that chronicles

the lives of nine young women who are homeless and living at the transitional shelter; Sierra House.  Inspired by real life accounts of women who are teenage mothers, former foster children, and domestic violence victims; this eye opening stage play sheds light on their 
journey before, during and after coming to the safe haven of Sierra House.  Hope Lives Here is a thought provoking

theatrical piece, which fuses original music and movement to help give voice to
a generation of women who overcome obstacles, find sisterhood and realize their
worth at Sierra House.

SEEKING:

Non-Union Female Singer/Actresses with strong dramatic and/or comedic 
abilities. Actresses must be capable of portraying the age range of 17-25

years. Ability to harmonize in ensemble based musical arrangements.  Ability to commit to rehearsal schedule is mandatory.

Please

prepare a one-minute dramatic or comedic monologue.  Also come prepared with 32 bars of a

contemporary song in the genre of Pop, R&B, Jazz, Neo-Soul or Gospel.  A CD player will be provided or an ‘a

cappella’ rendition can be performed.  Please bring a current headshot/photo and resume.  Sides from the production will be provided for cold-reading.
