Community Corner

Maplewood Green Drinks

Come by the Elks Lodge at 220 Prospect Street in South Orange for the February installment of Green Drinks!

This month’s speaker will be Nora Shepard, the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program Manager at Meadowlink.  Meadowlink, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) provides Safe Routes to School programs to schools and municipalities.

The Safe Routes to Schools program is being piloted at Tuscan School in Maplewood.  Ms. Shepard will talk about the Walking School Bus Tuscan Pilot that is moving forward with Meadowlink, and then tell us how to get involved at Tuscan and how to start it at the other schools in the district and beyond.

The Maplewood Green Team is proud to bring this tradition to you. At these events, held periodically, you will meet many members of our community, both those actively involved in our green initiatives and those just finding out more. It's a great opportunity to make new friends, to learn all the latest environmental information, and to help make a difference in our town.

Everyone is welcome, ask your friends and spread the word!  No fee, cash bar.
