The Pierro Gallery is pleased to invite you to an Art Talk at the Pierro Gallery in South Orange, this Thursday, January 30th at 7pm in connection with Four From Aferro on view through February 15, 2014.
The talk will be about the ways residency programs like Gallery Aferro’s, have impacted each artists work. It brings together the four artists from the current exhibition and Aferro co-founder Emma Wilcox. Each artist is an alumna of the Gallery Aferro Studio Residency program. Their installations in the Pierro Gallery are as follows: Skinning the Image, Katrina Bello; The Edge of Pause, Marcy Chevali; Sowing Promise, Vikki Michalios; and Toile News Project, Margaret Murphy. Connecting Gallery Aferro and Pierro Gallery via the residency program, highlights the artistic vibrancy of the region, and the important role that workspace programs and art centers play in placemaking and the free exchange of ideas.
