Fr. Ronald MacDonell has worked for twenty years among indigenous peoples in the Amazon region of Brazil. He will discuss language revitalization in these communities both in theory and in practice. With a Ph.D. in sociolinguistics, Fr. Ron will share his experiences by presenting the challenges and opportunities of cultivating languages and cultures in local communities of Makushi and Wapichana peoples.
