Pierro Foundation Year-End Giving for Matching Grant

The Lennie Pierro Memorial Arts Foundation has received a 2014 grant from the New Jersey State Council on
the Arts as administered through Essex County grant which requires the
organization to match the awarded monies. The public is encouraged to help
support the continued artistic contributions for the community through the
LPMAF.

Donations can be made easily at www.tonysmithsouthorange.org via Paypal or credit card. Or they can be directly mailed to LPMAF, PO box 335, South Orange, NJ 07079.

The $3,920 grant will be used to expand community
arts programming including an academic symposium on contemporary art at Seton
Hall University, a collaborative program with the school district, a curated
outdoor sculpture exhibition with artist’s talk at the Pierro Gallery, and the
annual “Art Party in the Park” celebration in South Orange’s Meadowland Park.
The Park is also the site of long-time resident Tony Smith’s monumental
sculpture TAU, the original inspiration for the community celebration, which
was first held in September 2012 to great success.
