GenWealth Will Walk For Breast Cancer Research

The GenWealth Walks for Hope will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Registration is now open for the GenWealth Walks for Hope to raise money for breast cancer research.

The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 8:30 a.m. at The GenWealth Group, located at 6 Inwood Place in Maplewood. A rain date is scheduled for the following day, Sunday, Sept. 22.

“As you know, we limit the number of walkers allowing a small group to walk through our beautiful Village,” said GenWealth Vice President Cherie Leanza. “Please take a moment now to register for the event, or if you can’t make it…please consider a charitable donation.”

100 percent of the funds raised by the walk will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), she said.

The foundation was founded in 1993 with a mission “to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for clinical research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing awareness about good breast health.”

“Currently, over 90 cents of every dollar donated to BCRF, goes to breast cancer research and awareness programs,” the organization says.

GenWealth Walks for Hope participants are asked to make a $50 minimum donation to BCRF to register. Participant will receive a pre-walk breakfast, a guided three-mile walk around Maplewood, a commemorative t-shirt as well as special gifts and prizes.
