About the owners and care team:

Casey Holstein – The Director of Client Relations and co-owner of Synergy
HomeCare Metro NJ, has truly found his calling in the home health care
industry. He spent many years taking care of attorneys and corporations in the
Legal Services & Data Management business and realized there has to be
something more personal and emotionally enriching then dealing with the legal
system.

In 2002, his wife developed breast cancer. The five-year battle she subsequently lost made him realize that taking care of people was what he really wanted to do.  “The dignity and courage that she showed made me realize the inherent quality people have inside and the desire to be treated as such is tremendous,” Casey said.  After several years of soul searching he decided to open a Synergy HomeCare office and take his love of caring into the community. 

Raising two young daughters alone, he tries to instill in them the same qualities that he feels make Synergy HomeCare a tremendous organization. His enthusiasm, energy and smile are not just tools, they are who he is.  In his spare time he is very involved in his community through volunteering, coaching his daughters, PTA and Class parenting and is also an active and yearly participant in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

David Katz -The Director of Operations and co-owner of Synergy HomeCare Metro NJ has enjoyed a long successful career of 25 years offering business to business solutions and services to large and small companies nationally. Ironically, he was nicknamed “The Doctor” in his previous business groups. More recently, David has reinvented his desire to help solve problems and chose to work directly with the public sector.  He opened a Synergy HomeCare agency in 2009 that serves individuals of all ages in the Union, Essex and Morris counties of New Jersey in companion care through personal care.  The transition has been tremendous and extremely rewarding.

After seeing how effective quality home care was able to help his father-in-law stay in his home with dignity during his final years, it was clear to David that
this was what he wanted to for the rest of his life.

He brings a tremendous level of skill in the administration and operations areas
of his agency and pledges to always maintain the highest standards of care for
all the people that come to need his services.

Rona Fitzgerald: The Senior Care Manager of Synergy HomeCare has been a lifelong resident of N.J.  She spent many of her career years in merchandising with store chains dealing with what the public wanted and needed.

In 2003 her husband John, her soul mate, was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Rona was immediately put into a family care giving role, and it was then that she realized that her calling in life was “Caring for People”.  By being kind, compassionate and loving she realized her efforts could make positive changes in people’s lives.

In 2005 Rona began her involvement in the world of HomeCare for others, besides John. Her true belief is that there is no better medicine then what can be offered in a person’s own home with proper companion or personal care. She joined Synergy HomeCare of Metro N.J. in Sept. 2009 has been responsible for working with clients and preparing the right care plan for them, as well as bringing on the best care givers the state offers. Her role in the organization is essential as it is also the release valve to reduce the high levels of stress and anxiety for all the families of the clients that we serve too.
