Man Arrested in Front of Police Headquarters

Woman says she saw man inside her car parked on driveway.

A 38-year-old Orange man was arrested Dec. 27 for burglarizing a car parked on a Turrell Avenue driveway, according to South Orange police.

A woman who was pulling into her driveway at 9:44 p.m. said she saw a man, later identified as Vincent Thomas, inside her 2004 Ford Explorer that was parked on the driveway.

When the woman pulled into the driveway, she said, Thomas fled, heading east on Turrell Avene, then south on Charlton Street.

South Orange police searched the area for Thomas, who was described as wearing a long, beige wool coat, and arrested him in front of police headquarters on South Orange Avenue.

The woman identified Thomas as the man and he was arrested at approximately 10 p.m., police said.
