Man Wanted for Seattle Double Homicide Apprehended in Essex County

Seattle man was also wanted for a South Jersey carjacking.

A man wanted for a double homicide in Seattle and a carjacking in South Jersey was apprehended Friday in West Orange, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

Ali Muhammad Brown, 29, of Seattle Wash., was arrested without incident Friday afternoon in the area of the 200 block of Mount Pleasant Avenue.

Brown was arrested on two open murder warrants for a double homicide on June 1 in Seattle and a warrant out of Point Pleasant for a June 29 carjacking, the prosecutor's office said.

Brown has been lodged in the Essex County Jail and will be turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The prosecutor's office announced on Monday that Brown may be staying with family in the Essex County area.

Brown is accused of gunning down 27-year-old Ahmed Said and 23-year-old Dwone Anderson in Seattle, according to a feature posted last month by Seattle's Most Wanted.

Brown, who was previously convicted of molesting his 6-year-old daughter, is also accused of carjacking a Washington, D.C. man in Point Pleasant last month. Brown allegedly demanded money and the victim's car keys. The victim obliged, but Brown ran off, police said.
