A Newark man was arrested last Wednesday in connection with a South Orange home burglary that occurred back in October, police said.
Kareem Hawkins, 37, was charged with the daytime burglary on Clark Street on Oct. 22, 2013, police said.
Hawkins was being held at the Union
County jail on unrelated charges where he was served with the South
Orange arrest warrant, police said.
On the date of the burglary, a South Orange man returned home and found someone on the second floor of his home, police said. The man told the homeowner he was a salesman before fleeing from the house, police said.
Police determined at the time that he had entered the single-family home by breaking a pane of glass on the front door and then reaching in and unlocking the door.
