Police Chase Leads to Arrest of Three Newark Men

Three Newark men were arrested after a chase through South Orange and into Newark.

Three Newark men were arrested on burglary charges in South Orange, Thursday, after police saw them fleeing from a home, according to a police report.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, South Orange Police were called to a Montrose St. home after receiving a call from a resident saying he saw three men breaking into his neighbors house, police said.

Police arrived at 8:30 a.m. and saw three men running from the home. The chase was continued into Newark, where they were apprehended on Sanford Ave. in Newark with the assistance of Newark Officers and members of the State Police.

The three men, Christopher Friday, 32, Darren Allen, 33 and Basil Hope, 51, all of Newark were charged with burglary to a dwelling and resisting arrest, police said.

The men were taken to South Orange police headquarters and processed.
