Police, Rescue Squad Welcome South Orange's Newest Arrival

The South Orange police and Rescue Squad assisted in a special delivery

South Orange's newest -- and youngest -- resident arrived at 5:14 a.m. on Dec. 27, thanks to the combined efforts of a midwife, the South Orange Rescue Squard, and South Orange police officer Zavian Bryant.

A Prospect Street resident was in labor when she called for help. South Orange police and rescue squad responded, helping the woman to deliver a son. The woman and her son, both healthy, were taken by SORS to St. Barnabas

Village President Alex Torpey, who is also a member of SORS, welcomed the new arrival. "Everyone in the Village is excited and very happy to welcome South Orange's newest and youngest resident to our community and wish the family congratulations," said Torpey.
