South Orange Man Carjacked in Front of Home, Police Say

South Orange Detectives are looking into a carjacking on Kilburn Pl, according to police reports.

South Orange Police are investigating after a resident was carjacked at gunpoint while parked in front of his house, according to a police report.

A South Orange man was carjacked in front of his Kilburn Place home at around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

The man pulled up to his house and got out of his 2014 Land Rover when three men wearing ski masks approached him with a handgun.

He gave the robbers his personal items, which were not disclosed by police. The three men then fled in the Land Rover and a silver Jeep Cherokee, police said.

Police are also investigating an alleged car chase in which a Newark man crashed his car into a pole on South Orange Ave. The man told police he was trying to evade a car which had chased him from Newark into South Orange.

Both incidents are under investigation by the South Orange Detective Bureau.
