South Orange Police Arrest Man on Criminal Trespassing Charges

An Orange man was arrested after reaching into a car parked at Seton Hall.

An Orange man was arrested in South Orange, Wednesday, on criminal trespass charges after an incident at Seton Hall University, according to a South Orange Police report.

A South Plainfield resident and his friend were sitting inside a vehicle parked on the Seton Hall University Campus on Wednesday, Sept. 25 when a man described as a thin, 5' 6" black male, about 60 years old with a beard and wearing a white and green striped shirt with blue jeans opened the front passenger door of his vehicle and reached inside, police said.

The South Plainfield man chased off the man and called the South Orange Police Department with a description.

Police found a man matching the description and identified him as John Woolford, 54 of Orange. The two victims positively identified Woolford as the man who had reached into their car.

He was arrested and processed at South Orange Police headquarters.
