South Orange Signs Stolen, One is Damaged

The "Woodside" sign is the latest threatened sign

South Orange has seen three signs taken and one damaged in recent weeks.

The bronze "Woodside" sign from Forest Road is the latest missing sign. Police report the Woodside sign, a bronze plaque attached to a large stone at the intersection of Forest Road and Wyoming Avenue, was stolen sometime before Sept. 21, when a resident noticed it missing. The origin of the plaque is unknown.

Earlier in September, two men were seen removing the street sign that marked Centre Street and South Orange Avenue. On Sept. 7, at 1:30 a.m., a resident called police to report the men left the area in a Nissan Altima.
