Reader Warns of Rabid Raccoon

A raccoon displaying rabies symptoms was seen on Monday night in West Montrose

A raccoon displaying rabies symptoms was spotted on Monday evening in West Montrose. According to a reader's account, a raccoon was sighted near Ridgewood Road, Hillside Terrace, and Montrose Avenue.

Rabin raccoons typically are aggressive, and willing to approach people and   dogs, demonstrate ataxia, vocalizations, and generally appear ill,according to the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health.
