South Orange Board of Trustees To Hold Special Meeting Thursday

Board of Trustees to discuss fate of Village Clerk Robin Kline, who has served for the past three years.

The South Orange Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting tonight, Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. to discuss the position of Village Clerk Robin Kline, who has served for the past three years.

The meeting will be held at Village Hall, located at 101 South Orange Ave.

Kline's appointing resolution, which was passed in 2010, set a termination date of July 31, 2013. The Board of Trustees will have until September 30 to make a decision on whether or not to reappoint Kline.

A group of residents have taken to an online petition to urge the Board to reappoint Kline. As of Monday, the petition had more than 60 signatures.

Petitioners have commented that Kline is an “asset,” “the best village employee ever,” and a “dedicated employee.”
