South Orange recently announced the launch of a new mobile app that can be used to report issues around town.
The PublicStuff app, can now be downloaded on the Google Play or iTunes app store, said Village President Alex Torpey.
During a recent Board of Trustees meeting, a resident complained to the Board that several local businesses were not shoveling or putting down salt in front of their buildings.
You can use the app to report issues on your phone and send it directly to code enforcement, Torpey told the resident.
Residents are already submitting issues through the app the on the village website.
“The 'Watch - Children' sign off the corner of W Fairview and Irvington is leaning,” one resident reported with a photo. “Cars often hit it when they do K-turns and it is close to falling over.”
Another shows a map of gas lamps that are out. Others show potholes, gas smells and property damage.
“We are really excited about the potential this brings,” said Torpey.
