South Orange Single-Stream Recycling Starts Wednesday

As of July 11, the sorting is over

Single-stream recycling arrives in South Orange on July 11. Residents will no longer need to sort paper from plastic from cans and bottles. In addition, more items than before can be recycled.

What Residents Need to Know:

Recyclable items will be collected curbside twice each month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays. (If one of those days is a holiday, the items will be collected the next day.)

New toters are available in three sizes, and can be purchased from the or ordered here.  For now, the toters that residents are using can still be used.
