NBC Report Shows Easy Access to Maplewood School

An NBC investigation shows just how easy it is to gain access to several schools throughout New Jersey.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, NBC's Jeff Rossen entered Tuscan Elementary school and deliberately did not report to the main office in an attempt to show how poor school safety is in the wake of recent tragedies at places like the Newtown, Conn., The Maplewoodian reported.
Saturday, Dec. 14 marks the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown.
The report sparked a reaction from Principal Malikah Tamar Majeed PTA President Alan Stephenson, who will hold a school safety committee meeting in the Tuscan School auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 to discuss school safety.
