SOMA Board of Ed Reorganization Meeting Rescheduled

The South Orange and Maplewood Board of Education Reorganization meeting will be held Tuesday.

The South Orange and Maplewood Board of Education's Reorganization meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, according to the district calendar.

The decision was made by the Board of Education to reschedule the annual reorganization meeting from Thursday to Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The scheduling change was made due to administrative reasons, according to district officials.

The scheduling change also coincides with an impending winter storm. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for all of North Jersey from 6 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday.

At the meeting, election winners Johanna Wright and Stephanie Lawson-Muhammad will be sworn into their new roles on the SOMA Board of Education. Board of Education member David R. Giles 2nd Vice President Lynne E. Crawford will be stepping down.

Crawford did not run for another term while Wright and Lawson-Muhammad beat out Giles in the November election.
