NJT and South Orange: New Year, Renewed Efforts

A New Years update on the issues related to NJT schedule changes

I wanted everyone to know that just becuase we have had a lull in train overcrowding due to the holiday season, we have not forgotten about the issue and the need for a full schedule overhaul to return NJT Train Service levels to what South Orange deserves. With that said, the following email was sent to NJT Executives today:

"Hi all, hope you had a great holiday week. As we enter this new year I wanted to make sure we are still on track for executives to ride the evening trains during the coming weeks and that appropriate and complete analysis will commence to ensure proper service levels are restored to South Orange.

I am hoping that the new year will bring a stronger, renewed interest in solving the issues that were caused by the schedule changes of October 14.

Thank you all again."

The following response was received:

"Indeed.

Am also investigating how the incorrect recorded announcement was made last week"

That last comment was related to an inquiry as to why the announcements on every evening train I was on from NY Penn stated that the first stop was South Orange. It was somewhat disheartening to hear that announcement when we are all completely aware that there is not a single train during the evening commute that has its first stop in South Orange.

May we all have a happy, healthy and easy commute during 2013.
