Sunday: Post-Sandy Community Cleanup and Food Drive

The South Orange community will gather on Sunday, November 25 from 1-4pm to help clean up efforts.

Lend a Handy, Help Clean Up Sandy

Over three weeks after Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc in the northeast, there's still so much to do to aid in the recovery process and here's a great chance to be a part of a village-wide effort.

This Sunday, November 25, there will be a post-Sandy community cleanup focusing on our parks and playgrounds.  The work will entail picking up branches and debris and placing it on the curb for removal by our Department of Public Works.  Volunteers should meet at Village Hall at 1pm to get an overview of the day's activities and enjoy some pizza courtesy of Bunny's Sports Bar.

Please bring gloves, rakes and a wheelbarrow if you have one.  Please do not bring any types of power tools.

This event is open to everyone, including supervised children.  RSVP to SOCleanup@gmail.com or confirm your participation on Facebook.

We're also requesting donations of non-perishable food to help replenish the food pantry at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. If you're not able to attend but would like to make a contribution to the pantry, we've setup an online giving tool: www.yougivegoods.com/LENDAHANDY
