Community Chooses Outdoor Movies for August

South Orange voted on movies, and the results are in.

The results are in. South Orange residents have chosen movies for Wednesday evenings in August on Floods Hill.

South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC), in cooperation with the Village of South Orange and The Baird, hosted online voting.  During two weeks, more than 550 community members cast their votes for Movies in the Park, voting for their favorite films in three categories: comedy, action/adventure, and drama/classics.

The first screening kicks-off on Wednesday, Aug. 14 with the supernatural comedy Ghostbusters, starting Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. The adventure film Raiders of the Lost Ark, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Harrison Ford will be screened on Wednesday, Aug. 21.  The final film for Movies in the Park is the classic sci-fi movie E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.
