Describe your blog: I write about my madcap adventures as a former city-girl turned suburban wife and mother, trying to civilize all the stinky, sports-obsessed males in my house. I’m also known to make snarky comments on my favorite TV shows, celebrities, music, and books.

How did you begin blogging? A journalist for more than 15 years, I was a TV news producer at Fox and ABC before leaving to seek a more flexible work environment. I started a family life column on Maplewood Patch called “Carpool Candy” which ran for two years. I rediscovered my love of writing and began to contribute news and feature stories to other sites as well. I launched my blog about four months ago as a place to continue exploring parenting issues and opine on all things pop culture.

What is the best part of being a blogger? I love when people make comments or email me saying they related to something I wrote. Blogging is a solitary and often lonely business so those moments of connection with readers make the time and energy worthwhile.
