Charter Review Vote on Board of Trustees Agenda This Week

South Orange to vote on Village Charter Review Monday night.

The South Orange Board of Trustees will squeeze one more meeting into 2013 at 8 p.m. on Monday at One SOPAC Way.

The Board is set to decide on its Village Charter, which was tabled at the last meeting after a difference of opinion between the Trustees. The Board voted 4-1 in favor of tabling the resolution with Trustees Mark Rosner, Howard Levison, Steve Schnall and Walter Clarke voting in favor and Sheena Collum voting against. Trustee Deborah Davis-Ford was absent from the meeting.

A second draft, which only includes the uncontroversial aspects of the Charter, that are “outdated and gender specific” will be prepared for first reading while the current version remains tabled. Both will be on the agenda for the Dec. 23 meeting.
