Montrose Park Historic District Association, Inc.
The Montrose Park neighborhood has been a designated historic site since 1997 and is listed in the National and New Jersey State Registries of Historic Places. The Montrose Park Historic District includes parts of Centre Street, Vose Avenue, Warwick Avenue and South Orange Avenue and features about 550 residential properties that illustrate 19th and early 20th-century architectural styles including Victorian, Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, Tudor and Shingle Style homes. The Montrose Park Historic District Association (MPHDA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1994 in order to raise funds for the preservation and beautification of the district.
Montrose in May House Tours of historic properties are run every other May and lectures are held regarding topics such as researching historic homes, historic landscaping and gardening practices and more. The Association also holds the responsibility of
installing Montrose Park street signs and banners to distinguish the historic district and highlight it's unique features.
