• Cable Television Committee
  • Advises Board of Trustees on issues pertaining to cable TV and the fiber-optic telecommunications industry.

  • Howard Levison is the Trustee liaison.

• Civilian Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • Conducts public education sessions on disaster preparedness.

• Citizen Budget Advisory Committee
  • Advises Board of Trustees and Board Finance Committee on budget
  • Reviews annual and interim budget submissions
  • Reviews department budgets

• Community Relations Committee
  • Produces South Orange newsletter "The Gaslight"
  • Acts as ombudsman
  • Janis Zaveri and B. Lawrence Branch are the co-chairs.

• Development Committee
  • Membership includes developers and architects; advises Board of Trustees on development issues.

• Domestic Violence Response Team (DIVRT)
  • Comes to the aid of victims of domestic violence

• Environmental Commission
  • Researches land use issues
  • Keeps records on open lands for the Recreation and Open Space Index (managed by the state Department of Environmental Protection and used to determine how Green Acres grants are given out) and the Village Master Plan.

• Municipal Open Space, Recreation and Farmland & Historic Trust Fund Advisory Board
  • Makes recommendations on open space programs and implementation of open space plans

• Public Information and Marketing Committee
  • Identifies information needs of residents, businesses and government entities
  • Joe Malespina is the chair.

• Recreation and Cultural Affairs Advisory Board
  • Advises the Recreation and Cultural Affairs department.
  • John B. Pogany is the chair.

• River Corridor Project Committee
  • Advises on proposal to redevelop the area along the eastern branch of the Rahway River and make it a thriving passive recreation destination.
