SOUTH ORANGE MIDDLE SCHOOL

MAPLEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL

  • The school has sixth through eighth grades.
  • In the last three years, has been recognized by the state as a "Benchmark School of Excellence" for its students' scores on standardized tests.
  • School hours are 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.; 4-hour days are 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • The HSA has a Web site.
  • South Orange students must file a special request with the Board of Education to be considered for enrollment at MMS.
OUR LADY OF SORROWS

  • OLS is a Roman Catholic K-8 school.
  • It's located at 217 Prospect St.
  • The School Advisory Board—formed annually and comprised of elected and appointed members—meets on the first Monday of the month.
  • There's a science lab specifically for sixth through eighth graders' use.
  • School hours are 8am - 2:45pm.
  • OLS has Middle States accreditation.
