- Recreation offers spring, summer, fall and winter sports for children and adults.
- Spring sports: baseball leagues for kids 5 to 15; adult softball leagues; tennis instruction; track and field; soccer leagues; and tae kwon do.
- Summer sports: playground camp programs; sports camps; swimming lessons and teams; recreational swimming at the community pool; tennis instruction; and travel baseball teams for kids 8 to 15.
- Fall sports: soccer training; pick-up soccer for adults; tennis instruction; flag football; outdoor basketball clinics and team play; fall baseball clinics and training; adult softball leagues; adult platform tennis; and tae kwon do.
- Winter sports: indoor basketball clinics, leagues and travel teams; platform tennis; batting practice at indoor batting cages; skiing instruction; indoor lacrosse clinics, indoor soccer for children and adults; indoor track; pee-wee tennis; and tae kwon do.

- Recreation issues photo ID badges that must be renewed every year for access to the community pool, the summer playground program, and select other Recreation programs.
- The fee is $20 a year.
- For minors obtaining their badge for the first time, birth certificates must be presented.

- Badges can be applied for during normal Recreation hours: Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Recreation runs the Peter S. Conner Memorial Swimming Pool, located on the opposite side of the baseball fields in Cameron Field and open in the summer.

- General swimming hours are Monday to Friday, noon to 8 p.m. (or dusk); Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (or dusk).
- Early Bird Swim is Monday to Friday, 6:15 to 8 a.m.
- Swim Instruction is held Tuesday to Friday, 9 to 11:50 a.m.
- Facilities include an adult pool, diving boards, an intermediate pool, a kiddie pool, locker rooms and a snack bar.
- Guest passes are available in units of five for $25. Up to 20 may be purchased per season.
- Rules and regulations may be read online.
- Various classes and workshops—on art, dance and more—are held at the Baird.
