WATER

• The East Orange Water Company operates the Village's water system, as well as East Orange's.
• The executive director is Harry L. Mansmann. He can be reached at 973.266.8869, ext. 101.
• Its offices are at 99 S. Grove St., East Orange. Payment can be made in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:20 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  
• It's supplied by the East Orange Water Reserve in Millburn, Livingston and Florham Park.
  
• The customer service number is 973-266-8869.
  • Call with questions on service or billing.
  • Call to report a leaking water or sewer pipe or fire hydrant.
  • Call to report discolored water after running the tap for a few minutes to see if it clears up.
    
• Online payment is available.
  • There's a $2 convenience fee.

SEWERS

• South Orange has its sewage treated in Elizabeth; the Village pays directly for the service.
• If a sewer backs up, call the Department of Public Works at 973-378-7741.
• If it happens outside of business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), call the police department's non-emergency line: 973-378-7772.
