EAST BRANCH OF RAHWAY RIVER
- A part of the eastern branch of the Rahway River runs through South Orange. The most prominent part is next to the Middle School.
- A request for proposals to redevelop the riverside area went out in 2003.
- Rhodeside & Harwell, Inc. of Alexandria, Va., submitted a master plan in February 2007.
- It calls for improving the appearance of concrete walls that hem the river, planting more vegetation and building a new pedestrian/bicycle bridge in hopes of making the river's edge an inviting destination for residents.
- A summary is available online.
- The full plan is also available online.
