Two Dead in Shootings Hours Apart

East Orange woman, local man are victims of daytime violence Tuesday

An East Orange woman is dead after being shot Tuesday afternoon in Newark's South Ward, authorities said. Another man was shot and killed just hours later. Sabrina Hall, 42, was shot around 2 p.m. on the 700 block of Bergen Street near West Runyon Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. Witnesses claimed the woman was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when the shooting occurred. Hall was transported to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made and an investigation by ECPO's Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and Newark Police Department is active and ongoing. Authorities did not comment on a possible motive.
