Locals Walk to Help End Hunger
With growing numbers of people needing assistance, food pantries need more help, too.
About 200 people from Essex County food pantries, schools, religious and community organizations participate in the Ninth Annual Essex County Walk To End Hunger Friday. The purpose of the walk is to increase awareness about the increasing problem of hunger in Essex County and raise funds for hungry families who come to the pantries for help. Sponsored by the Emergency Food and Nutrition Network (EFNN) of Catholic Charities and Meeting Emergency Needs with Dignity (MEND), a network of 18 food pantries, including the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges.
