Maplewood PD Arrest Man for Allegedly Kidnapping Teen
Maplewood Police Department worked in cooperation with NYPD on the case.
A 22-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with kidnapping and assaulting a 17-year-old Maplewood girl, according to Maplewood Police. The man, Abu Mamun of of 484 E. 4th Street, allegedly removed the girl by force from her Maplewood home on November 6 and brought her to the Brooklyn residence they formerly shared. The girl's father told Maplewood Police Officers that he had received a phone call from his daughter around midnight reporting that she had been assaulted and was being taken against her will to New York City in a taxi cab.
