Bank Robber Sought After Stealing Thousands, Cops Say

Maplewood Police said no one was injured in this morning's incident at Bank of America.

This article was updated at 6:45 p.m. Maplewood Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a robbery that took place at the Bank of America on Maplewood Avenue Saturday morning. According to police, no one was injured in the incident that occurred at 10:41 a.m. The alleged robber — a man — mentioned a weapon to the teller, according to Sgt. Joseph Guglielmo, but no weapon was seen. He reportedly made off with several thousand dollars, said Guglielmo. "The suspect is at large and police are following some solid leads," said Guglielmo. "We will catch this guy." Patch will update the story as more information is made available.

Serial Burglar Suspected in 150 Burglaries Across North Jersey

Man caught on tape burglarizing a West Orange Chinese Restaurant is also wanted in Montclair, Millburn, Verona and Fairfield.

A man suspected in more than 150 commercial burglaries in four New Jersey counties over the last two years has been caught on surveillance tape by the West Orange Police Department. The video of the serial burglar's last known job, on Nov. 18 at 4:30 a.m., at the #1 Chinese Kitchen on Main Street, depicts the man breaking into the restaurant by smashing the lower half of a glass door, crawling through the opening, and rummaging through the cash register. He found the register empty and left 15 minutes later, police said.  Once police captured the man’s appearance on tape, they were able to get his face out across state channels, West Orange Det. South Orange Men Charged in Maplewood Robbery

The men arrested are charged with beating and robbing a South Orange man in Maplewood.

Four South Orange men have been charged for the July 3 beating and robbing of another South Orange resident on Woodland Road in Maplewood. Marcus Jones, 19, Armand Spears, 20, Patrice Golden, 19, and Lateef Ahre, 20, were arrested Friday, July 6, and charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. A 21-year-old South Orange man was walking home from a party in Maplewood at around 1:30 a.m., July 3, when Jones, Spears, Golden and Ahre allegedly pulled up to him in a car. According to police, the four knocked the man unconscious and stole his backpack, wallet, headphones and cell phone. The injured man called 9-1-1 after he woke up. He told police he knew his attackers and was able to identify them. He was then taken to the hospital …

Brutally beat and one punch are two completely different things every action has a reaction and I feel like more fingers should be pointed at the boy who originally acted irresponsibly. How dangerous could it have been if the fire cracker didn't land where the boy thought it would. This would have been a completely different story. Three Arrested In Maplewood Assault, Robbery

The investigation into the early-morning assault is ongoing.

Police have arrested three men and are looking for a fourth after a man was hit in the head and robbed while walking down South Ridgewood Road. The names of the men arrested have not been released yet, and it is not known if they were in Maplewood or county lockup. On Tuesday at 2:30 a.m. a man, whose was also not identified, was walking down Ridgewood Road when he was hit in the head and robbed. He was taken by the South Orange Rescue Squad to the hospital with minor head injuries. After being under observation for a few hours, he was released.
