Art and Earth Day at Our Lady of Sorrows School
Every student in the school shows off an art project.
Our Lady of Sorrows School gymnasium became an art gallery this week, as the school held its annual “Expressions in Art” event on Thursday. Under the guidance of art teacher Barbara Fotinopoulos, every student in the school, from Pre-K through eighth grade, created art that appeared in the show. Each pre-school student, for example, created a sunflower that became a bouquet in the style of Van Gogh. Kindergarteners drew and colored in response to books read aloud to them, while older students studied and imitated artists such as Mondrian and Frida Kahlo.
