About Doug
Doug Zacker is a family photographer and owner of Zacker Images - www.zackerimages.com - in South Orange. His work centers on family, in particular the love, excitement and joy that is at the heart of family life. He accomplishes this through family life portraiture, sports photography and photographing milestone events, primarily B'Nai Mitzvahs and Communions.
Starting his professional career as a photojournalist with a stint at US Magazine (when it was still a monthly), Doug traded in the thrill of photojournalism to take a more active role in social change as a part of Teach For America (Houston, '93). Seeing a greater need for corporate involvement in environmental and social change, Doug eventually earned an MBA and subsequently found himself running corporate responsibility programs for a Fortune 25 company.
Throughout, Doug maintained his photography skills and frequently stepped in when an employer needed photos for marketing, internal publications, annual reports, etc. As a result, Doug's work has been seen in many major national publications.
Many years ago, a move back to the NE prompted some soul searching, a rearranging of priorities and a return to photography. By examining families and shining a spotlight on the love, joy and excitement, Doug has found a way to help families rise above the roller coaster of everyday life, thereby achieving more for themselves, for their families and for their communities.
