Ellen Kahaner
Has published six books for kids and young adults, and written on a wide variety of subjects including radiation spills in Juarez,  Mexico, which was cited by Project Censored as one of the 10 most censored stories of the year.  Enjoyed a long career as an elementary school reading specialist and adjunct instructor at universities and colleges. Currently teaches reading, writing, and math to members of District 1199, the Health Care and Hospital Worker's Union, in an outpost on South Orange Ave. Rides her bike to work, to run errands, and for relaxation as much as possible.
