ReplyDavid,
At least I have a record to speak of. You, not so much. That said you do bring up a great point in mentioning that not only has the town bought a property, they've purchased a lawsuit as well.
Only in Maplewood.

Reply"it is time "to see if there are any creative ideas that Maplewoodians can bring forward."
How about turning the WC into a circus since that's what this whole thing has become since the TC first fought the WC to give up its tax exempt status in order to pay taxes on the property.

ReplyIt all sounds good but again, would the Mayor consider demolishing the building if the TC is unable to come up with partners? What are the odds that the building remains standing? 75-25? etc.

I think it's safe to say that Ken is obviously the good. The CCR mess was not created by Fred so perhaps the situation BUT NOT FRED is the ugly. The bad, well, if you have a chance to read Carolyn's piece this morning on the WC, you may find yourself shaking your head in disbelief. Is Vic the bad? I can't say for sure but we are spending a boatload of money on a building that we don't know what to do with.

Maplewood Off Line.
You mean to tell me, the posters there are gossiping again? Those people need to get out of the house!

ReplyUgh,
Here's hoping that both Art and Candy find a positive outcome to this mess. I believe their "differences" are a direct result of the business being terminated by NJT and I'm saddened the two of them have gone to war. It doesn't have to be that way.
My only advice to both of them is to stay off that childish gossip site, MOL. Nothing good can come from posting there.

ReplyAt a TC meeting a month ago Ryan said maybe 3 mil to fix up the club but De Luca made it clear that wasn't going to happen. figure another mil to fix it up above purchase price.

ReplyYes, SA has improved tremendously and I think we can thank former Mayor Fred Profeta for much of it. Mr. Profeta's insistence that the police station be moved to SA really began the "rebirth". While some will argue the cost associated with the structure, in the end, that station anchored the Ave. and helped begin the process revitalization that also includes a great Gym (East Side Fitness) and some wonderful mom and pop stores including Top Hat and Tails.
Thank You Mr. Profeta, your legacy continues growing as current Mayor De Luca follows your lead in helping that Ave. grow.
