HI Marcia - great piece this week. In my book, Images of America: South Orange, on p.12, you'll see that Thos. Kingman began developing Montrose Park in 1892. Circa 1850 Mountain Station served visitors to Mtn Hse Spa and Montrose residents. I think in the 1920s Montrose merged with SO for the benefit of public services. Naoma Welk
